How to Set Up Your Email Signature

posted May 6, 2018, 1:57 PM by Alisa Vural

Do this first thing when you learn that your DrgaonNet email has been created.

DragonNet is the domain for New Jersey Wing CAP email. You should check your DragonNet email every day. Email is our primary form of communication outside of meetings. Important notifications about meetings, events and activities will come to that email. Additionally, you can only sign up for Orientation Flights with your DragonNet email. DragonNet runs on a Google platform, so if you have a gmail account you will be familiar with it.

Here is your mission for today:
1) Set up your DragonNet email. To do this, navigate to our squadron website (the address is in my signature). From the home page look for the DragonNet link on the left and follow the instructions. (Haven't been to our website before? Spend some time looking around, especially in the New Cadet Guide.)

2) Set up your DragonNet signature. Go to Settings in your account and find the signature. You should copy my signature (including all the graphics) to your signature, and change it to reflect your name and CAP grade. You won't have any position titles yet, so it should just be your name, CAP grade, telephone and then our squadron website and other CAP info. If you aren't sure what your cadet grade is or how to write it, go to the New Cadet Guide on our website and follow the link for Stripes to Diamonds. You'll find valuable information there.

3)  Send an email with the subject, "Mission Accomplished" to me, Lt Col McCloud (Deputy Commander for Cadets), and 1st Lt Marashlian (Assistant Deputy Commander for Cadets.) Your email should include a greeting, body text and a closing. In CAP we are formal with email communication, and usually close our emails with "Very respectfully,"  When you email a Senior Member (SM), you should always cc another SM or a parent. This is part of our Cadet Protection Protocol.

Good luck with your mission. I am sure you can do it. If you need help, come to the meeting early tonight, between 1830 and 1845. There will be someone who can help you.

Very respectfully,

Check your CAP email daily for important announcements. Email is our primary form of communication!

1. Go to the NJ Wing Home Page
2. On the left side, select the DragonNet icon.
3. Your email is: first.last@njwg.cap.gov
4. Your first login in is NJCAPID, where "CAPID" represents your CAP ID.
